An Entrepreneur wanted to grow his business from INR 25 Cr. to INR 100 Cr. in 2 years. His core team consisted of people who had helped his organisation grow to 25 Cr. He was keen that this core team grow with the organisation. He believed them to be ready to take on the responsibilities in his fast-growing organisation.

This belief stalled his ambition by about 9 months. In reality, the team members were simply not ready!

During one meeting with the Entrepreneur, in a span of 90 minutes, he received 22 phone calls. One from a customer. The remaining 21 from various members of this core team!

The Core team members wanted to ask him about mundane items. Things which the team members should take a decision on. Since the team was not ready, they relied on him to take decisions. As a result, he spent a lot of time doing their work, leaving him less time to focus on things that really mattered to him.

When his awareness built on the many calls he received, he was astounded. He could not believe that he was spending his time this way. He commented that he did wonder where the day went at the end of every day.

This Awareness, led him to take a decision: hire another person to oversee operations and develop the team.

Another 3 months was spent to identify the right talent. Once the new person was on board, the entrepreneur freed his time to focus on clients, and, all the other things that mattered to him the most.

As a result the organisation grew to 65 Cr in that year.
